About me

My background

I’ve always enjoyed working with people. The first 17 years of my career was all about consumer behaviour, working in advertising agencies. I especially enjoyed building strong client relationships, managing large teams and getting things done. I trained in coaching almost 30 years ago and have been using the principles in my second career as a recruitment consultant since 2007. I’ve always been fascinated by people’s stories and their journey through life.

My training

I’m committed to continuing to learn how to live more wisely and soulfully and guide others to do the same. I’ve been on a wonderfully challenging journey of inner transformation over the last few years which began when I experienced my own family losses. I’m honoured to have been trained in the work that helped me so profoundly by my mentor Donna Lancaster. Her programme of healing workshops also draw on the wisdom of Sobonfu Somé, David Richo and Stephen Jenkinson among others.

This work feels like a calling. I believe my purpose is to support and empower people to transition through important moments in their lives.

My style is grounded, direct and heart led. I approach my work and my life with commitment and loyalty.

I live in Sussex with my husband, two grown up children, a dog and three cats. Sussex is the home of my maternal ancestors and I feel very rooted here. I’m at my most blissfully happy, working in my garden listening to a podcast and when I am singing and walking the dog in the local countryside (although not at the same time!).

Sarah Barker

“I got so much out of this experience. I was a bit nervous at first but Sarah made me feel really comfortable and it was really reassuring to be with other people who had been through similar things to me. I feel like a weight has been lifted.”
